Everyone, if they are totally honest, wishes that they could be a better person. Possibly a better parent or spouse. We all have regrets for the way we have treated others or things we have done. Life is full of temptations and often, in a time of weakness, we are guilty of yeilding to the temptation.
Therefore, we need to strengthen our character so that we make wiser decisions when faced with these temptations.
This excersise is based upon the assumption that what you feed your mind is what you become. It is that same old principle of "garbage in/garbage out". If you feed your mind garbage your behavior will adjust eventually and you will make a bad decision for which you regret. However, if you feed your mind with positive food you will resist the temptations when come your way.
"Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.."(Philippians 4:8)
Therefore, we pump your mind full of positive material.
Secondly it is based upon the recently discovered principle that to listen to a book being read can be more effective at comprehension and memory retension than merely reading a book. Thus "the read a book aloud" movement. We also believe that it can have a more lifechanging effect.
Finally, we hold that repeating a portion of a book over and over can drill the message into your brain having even more lifechanging effect.
We have chosen the Sermon On The Mount as the most lifechanging portion anyone can read. These three chapters found in the Bible are directly from the mouth of Jesus and are central to His teaching.By listening to these three chapters every day for one week we will find that your life has changed. You have become a person of integrity and compassion. You have become a more patient, gentle and loving person.
